Starting for the 2025-26 school year, we are seeking an online instructor certified to teach PK-12 Art within the Brandywine Virtual Academy Division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit in Downingtown, PA. This position would primarily teach K - 8 Art, but also may also teach some high school courses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in art and online education and be proficient in using digital learning platforms, web conferencing tools, and other technology to facilitate engaging and effective instruction. Applicants should be comfortable managing a virtual classroom, fostering student interaction, and adapting instructional strategies to support diverse learning needs. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality online lessons, providing timely feedback, utilizing data to inform instruction, and maintaining strong communication with students and families. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to create an inclusive and supportive virtual learning environment while effectively troubleshooting technical challenges as needed. Prior experience in online teaching and familiarity with best practices in virtual instruction are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor level degree in education required
• PA teaching certification in Art Education required; Special Education Certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years experience teaching students in an online environment preferred.
• Technology experience required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Current within one year FBI, PA State and Child Abuse Clearances.
  
  

Duties & Responsibilities

• Instruct individuals and groups in subject area.
• Provide specially designed instruction for special education students.
• Plan interactive curriculum and lessons, synchoronous and asynchronous.
• Evaluate and monitor student progress based on performance, test scores, and observation of behavior.
• Support objectives and interventions of the educational program.
• Maintain contact with parents of students and/or professionals concerning student progress.
• When appropriate,develop IEPs addressing specific academic, behavioral, and speech needs of students
• Prepare grades, feedback, educational records, classroom observation records, and other documentation as required.

• $58,751 to $88,563 - Instructional I Certification
• $61,300 to $92,110 - Instructional II Certification
• $65,394 to $100,586 - Master's Degree
• $68,403 to $104,546 – Master’s 15
• $69,938 to $106,442 - Masters 30

• Position is located in person at the CCIU Education Services Center- 455 Boot Rd, Downingtown, PA with the opportunity to work from home up to two days per week.
