What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Maintenance/Custodian (Full-time) - Coatesville position at Chester County Intermediate Unit?
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of institutional cleaning methods and processes; knowledge of trades, ability to implement routine building and infrastructure maintenance(plumbing, electrical, hvac).
- Pervious school custodial/building custodial experience required
- Ability to comply with written and/or oral directions
- Possess valid driver’s license
- General knowledge and understanding of trades, codes and regulations
- General knowledge of maintaining primary and secondary electrical systems and equipment
- Working knowledge of carpentry and plumbing and custodial services methods and procedure
- Ability to operate a variety of tools common to the maintenance trades
- Ability to perform routine maintenance as well as some major and minor repairs to facilities systems and equipment
- Clean and maintain building facilities and systems.
- Change belts, filters, replace ballasts and perform routine HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work.
- Collect and dispose of trash and recyclable items.
- Maintain landscape and perform snow removal using large power equipment in addition to manually operated equipment.
- Take receipt of supplies and other items and store and deliver these items to the appropriate persons or areas.
- Maintain overall security of building and grounds as required.

Position may be required to fill in at other locations in times of need or in emergencies. The base schedule for the position is 6:30A to 2:30P, Monday through Friday.
