- Continuously monitor security logs and alerts for potential cyber threats or vulnerabilities.
- Investigate, analyze, and respond to security incidents, coordinating with internal teams and external partners as needed.
- Develop and implement proactive measures to enhance threat detection and mitigation.
- Provide technical support and guidance to educational institutions using cybersecurity managed services.
- Work closely with other technical engineers to ensure high availability and optimal performance of cybersecurity solutions.
- Collaborate with IT teams from various school districts to strengthen security postures and improve cybersecurity awareness.
- Assist in maintaining security documentation, procedures, and best practices.
- Conduct regular security assessments to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to educational cybersecurity.
- Provide cybersecurity consultation and support to CCIU.
- All other duties as assigned.

The "home base" for this position would be Downingtown, PA, but there could be potential for this to be a hybrid/remote position after an onboarding period.

The CCIU provides services to the 12 school districts in Chester County. This includes services to nearly 86,000 public and non-public school students and over 6,000 educators. The Chester County Intermediate Unit is one of 29 regional educational agencies established by law in Pennsylvania in 1971. This role will play a key part in ensuring the security, integrity, and efficiency of cybersecurity services provided to educational institutions across Pennsylvania. The Cybersecurity Generalist is part of a collaborative technical team to implement, monitor, and maintain security solutions that protect school districts from cyber threats.
Candidates should have strong problem solving and diagnostic skills, be a self-starter, be highly motivated, and have demonstrated proficiency and experience in the skills mentioned below. All applicants must have the ability to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
