- An undergraduate degree required (communication sciences disorders is preferred)
- Current police, child abuse & FBI fingerprint clearances
- Completion of 20 hours of training annually is required while employed in this position.
- Preparing instructional materials.
- Maintaining discipline and other behavior management functions.
- Arranging the learning environment.
- Assembling, adjusting, and maintaining equipment and technology used in the instructional program.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Escorting students to and from speech/language session.
- Prompting students within speech/language therapy sessions.
- Programming AAC devices.
- Collecting data on student performance within speech/language therapy sessions.
- Completing record keeping tasks assigned by the speech/language therapist.
- Completing data collection tasks as assigned by speech/language therapist.
- Entering IEP and student tracking information that was developed by the speech/language therapist into computerized systems. The speech/language therapist is accountable for developing IEP content, Penn Data codes, and the accuracy of IEPs and Penn Data information.

- 14 - 17 yrs experience = $21.97
- 18 - 21 yrs experience = $23.78
- 22 - 25 yrs experience = $23.78
- Bachelor's degree is equivalent to 9 yrs experience on the scale = $18.35
- Master's degree is equivalent to 15 yrs experience on the scale = $21.97

At the present time, a vacancy for a part-time Instructional Assistant position exists within the Speech and Language department of the CCIU. This position will assist the staff speech/language therapists in general daily activities. The Instructional Assistant is directly monitored by the Speech and Language Therapists assigned to the building and is responsible to and evaluated by the Supervisor of Speech and Language Services.until filled
Qualifications:
Assisting the speech/language therapists:
Monday - Friday 6 hours per day, 185 days per year
