What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Student Support Specialists - Reading School District position at Chester County Intermediate Unit?
- Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred
- Experience working with bilingual/bicultural students preferred
- Experience working with the applicable age group preferred
- Must have Act 33 and 34 clearances and federal criminal history background check (available through CCIU upon hire)
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Plan and implement summer educational programs for students
- Assist with facilitation of the involvement of parents in the education of their children and in the dissemination of information, using translation/interpretation services, as needed
- Support parent involvement activities within the 21st Century Community Learning Center program

At the present time, vacancies exist for Summer Student Support Specialists within the 21st Century Community Learning Center Program, Student Services Division of the CCIU. Currently, there are multiple openings working with pre-k, elementary, middle, and/or high school-aged students, and supporting English Language Learners and/or academic support students. These positions are temporary for the duration of the summer ONLY.
