Provides technical support and assistance to schools and departments in the installation and operation of computer hardware, software and peripherals. Work is performed within established procedures and standard practices under general supervision. Contacts are regularly and frequently made at all organizational levels within and outside the department. Professional judgment is required.
Essential Job Functions:
Installs and upgrades computer hardware, software and peripherals.
Troubleshoot and repair Laptops and Desktop PC’s.
Troubleshoot and repair Laser printers
Analyzes, troubleshoots and resolves issues with computer hardware, software and peripherals.
Maintains accountability of all computer hardware assets in assigned buildings.
Consult with users/school administration on the deployment of technology assets (hardware, and software), purchase specifications of printers and system specifications.
Test computers, printers and peripherals to evaluate performance issues.
Assist with other functions of the School Technology Support Team that may be identified.
Performs other work as assigned.

Utilizes a personal computer, general office equipment and equipment related to technology services i.e. desktop and laptop computers, digital signage kiosks, applications servers, laser printers, etc.

Contact with all levels of staff to provide technical assistance.

Physical Demands:
Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer terminal; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal indoor levels, outdoors and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly; physical agility to drive, bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, walk and reach overhead. Entails movement and placement of computer peripherals, must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
The employee regularly works in an office or classroom environment. The noise level is moderate. Normal precautions of working around electronic equipment must be exercised at all times.
Considerable knowledge of computer hardware, software and peripherals and current Windows and Chrome operating systems. Considerable knowledge of hardware and software installations and upgrades. Demonstrated ability in analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software problems. Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting wired and wireless network connectivity issues. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision; to work within and follow established guidelines and procedures and to prioritize and meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
Education, training or experience sufficient to demonstrate the required knowledge, skills and abilities. CompTIA A certification is strongly preferred. Valid VA Driver's License.- Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal History Investigation

Salary : $56,372 - $95,823
