ABOUT THE CLERK’S OFFICE
The Circuit Court Clerk’s Office is the administrative arm of the Circuit Court. Our day-to-day operations significantly impact the Chesterfield community. The Clerk’s Office prioritizes accessibility, transparency, effectiveness and being constituent focused. The staff within the Clerk’s Office are responsible for providing administrative support, record keeping, case management, court-related financial matters, and, most importantly, adhering to the law.
ABOUT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DIVISION
The Customer Service Division serves as the first point of contact with the Clerk’s Office, and ensures all customers, in person or on the phone, receive the highest quality service possible. They direct all customers to the correct department; handle matters related to registering ministers; qualifying notaries; issuing concealed handgun permits; receipting payments; and data entry. We are looking to expand our Customer Service Division with a dedicated, caring, team-oriented professional. Exceptional people skills are a must, as a large part of what we do is supply information, assistance, and support to customers who may be going through a difficult time. Legal matters can be confusing or overwhelming for many; therefore, clear, and compassionate communication is essential.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred; one year of previous office and/or customer service experience preferably in the court, legal, real estate, mortgage banking or credit bureau industry; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience with standard office equipment and software; knowledge of standard office procedures and complex legal procedures/terminology; demonstrated skills in oral/written communication; multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment; meeting tight deadlines; attention to detail; public relations/customer service; utilization of state-of-the-art technology and work proficiency.
Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
•Responds to all initial customer service requests received through the Reception front desk.
•Ensures that all customer service requests are handled promptly, accurately, and in a courteous manner.
•Ensures that customers at the front desk and over the phone are directed to the proper division for assistance.
•Responsible for the processing and reporting of miscellaneous transactions, including, but not limited to the following: notary commissions, concealed handgun permits, and minister registrations.
•Assigned other duties and/or special projects as necessary and at the discretion of the Clerk of Court.
This position will be primarily assigned to the Customer Service Division of the Circuit Court Clerk's Office but may be reassigned to other areas of the office as needed. Perform other work as required.
Salary : $24 - $28
