Under general supervision, is responsible for transporting inmates to job sites. Guarding, supervising, and overseeing the clearing of brush from roadways by inmates. Securing, maintaining materials, supplies, and equipment needed for jobs. Maintaining records such as incident reports, vehicle maintenance records, etc. Must be physically able to operate a motorvehicle as well as a variety of machines and equipment including chain saw, shovels, axes, level, transit, etc. Must be physically able to frequently to lift, carry, push or pull, stoop, crouch, or climb. Must be able to walk or stand for long periods of time. High school diploma, any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities. Prior work with inmates would be helpful. Must possess a valid S.C. driver’s license. Reports to the Public Works Road Supervisor.
