PLANT NURSERY MANAGER – FULL TIME

Our nursery offers perennials, landscape trees & shrubs, indoor plants, annuals, educational events, and more! This diverse role requires plant-based industry experience and leadership experience. This position includes hands-on team management, managing & operating inventory receiving, merchandising/stocking, providing data for purchasing, high level problem solving, streamlining processes, customer service, and plant care.

Full Time

• Years (2 ) of proven experience required in one or more of the following fields: horticulture, nursery management, or other plant-based industry. REQUIRED
• 1 year of skid steer experience (bucket & jaws) REQUIRED
• General plant knowledge REQUIRED
• Team player, hands-on approach
• Ability to manage a variety of projects and day-to-day operations
• Ability to manage and build a high functioning team, strong leadership skills
• Willing to work exclusively in the outdoors and greenhouses
• Overtime available for hourly pay package

REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:

• Supervising to a Nursery Staff of 5-10
• Ability to Prioritize & Delegate Tasks on a Daily, Weekly & Monthly Basis
• Attention to detail
• Basic operational activities including scheduling, physical inventory, work orders, work report reviews, section walkthroughs, and team member performance reviews.
• General plant care & maintenance of nursery stock, including watering, basic pest control & fertilization methods
• Upkeep of hoop houses, greenhouses, irrigation systems and shade structures
• Manage all aspects of the plant & stone inventory receiving (counting, measuring, reviewing Bill of Lading)
• Willing to problem solve at a high level and take calculated risks in day-to-day and overall operations
• Working directly with other managers towards company goals, creating new initiatives, and project management
• Maintain cleanliness and safety protocols (including handles fertilizers, pest control, etc.)
• Willing & able to work in all weather conditions, including extremes (heat, cold, rain, etc.)
• Able to comfortably lift 75 lbs. repeatedly throughout the day
• Able to be on your feet for multiple hours at a time
• Occasional Assisting Customers
• Must be available to work 6 days per week March, April, May, and half of June, and as business requires
• Saturday work days required

PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED

• QuickBooks experience
• Microsoft app experience
• Point-of-Sale experience

Pay $25-28 per hour

Compensation commensurate with prior experience.
