Are you a compassionate caregiver with a commitment to providing exceptional resident care? Chesterton Manor, a leading skilled nursing facility in Chesterton, IN, is seeking a dedicated Shower Aide to join our team.
In this role, you’ll assist with bathing and grooming residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being, while working collaboratively with other caregivers to deliver high-quality daily nursing care.
Shift Availability :Key Responsibilities
Bathing & Grooming : Assist residents with daily hygiene, including brushing teeth / dentures, oral care, and bathing (bed, bathtub, or shower).
Provide hair care, such as combing, brushing, and shampooing.
- Bed Maintenance : Change bed linens, ensuring they are smooth and wrinkle-free to promote resident comfort.
- Support Daily Needs : Help residents with bowel and bladder functions, including bathroom assistance, bedpan / urinal use, and portable commodes.
- Activity Preparation : Assist residents in getting ready for activities, social programs, and special events (e.g., church services, parties, and visits).
- Medical Assistance : Change dressings, bandages, and binders as directed by nursing staff.
- Resident Monitoring : Regularly check on residents who may be unable to call for help, ensuring their safety and comfort.
Qualifications
- Certification : Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required.
- Skills : Strong attention to detail, compassion, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
