What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk/Therapy Tech position at CHESTERTON PHYSICAL THERAPY, INC?
We’re currently seeking a Front Desk Receptionist/Therapy Tech for our busy, outpatient physical therapy practice in Chesterton, IN. At Chesterton Physical Therapy, we put patient care first and are looking for someone who has a strong interest in helping others and has a strong sense of community.

Assisting the Front Desk:
- Welcoming patients as they arrive
- Answering phones
- Scheduling patients for evaluation and after
- Ensuring that patients attend their appointments
- Collection of patient payments
- Management and tracking of referrals
- New patient intake/communication
- Daily/Weekly reports
- Maintain a clean front office and waiting room
- Ensure Verification of Insurance Benefits is completed
- Explanation of Benefits to new patients who arrive for evaluation
- Handling the sales process to help patients get fully signed up for care
- Data Entry – you need to be proficient data entry
Assisting the Therapist:
- Set up treatment rooms for patient evaluations and treatment- Cleaning Linens, wiping down tables and keeping the clinic orderly. Set up exercise equipment and Modalities for patient use as directed by the therapists.
- Assist in patient exercise instruction as directed by the therapists and monitor exercise safety. Assist with patient setups and application of appropriate procedures and modalities as directed. Monitor vital signs as appropriate for patients and clients.
- Respond to emergencies and perform CPR if necessary.
- Assist with patient flow by effectively monitoring and supporting the timely care of each patient.
- Optimize patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by adhering to treatment schedule.
- Comfort patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining the gym and treatment areas clean.
- Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information; HIPAA compliance.
- Maintain operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing results.
This is a full-time position that requires you to be able and willing to work 40 hrs each week. At Chesterton Physical Therapy, we believe in giving back to the community so willingness to participate in charitable activities and donate time is expected. Occasional coverage for Saturday will be required.

Required:
- You must be able to reach, bend, walk, lift up to 30 lbs., use five finger manipulation over extended periods and stand and sit for prolonged periods of time.
- You must be CPR Certified or able to become certified immediately.
- 1 year of experience- Experience in Orthopedic or Sports Injury Setting preferred
- Knowledge of Physical Therapy
- Background or Course work in Anatomy or Kinesiology preferred
- Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
- Physical Therapy office experience: 1 year (Preferred)
- Office experience in scheduling and collection: 1 year (Preferred)
- Tech experience: 1 year (Preferred)
- Familiarity with HIPPA and other healthcare compliance regulations
