The Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Service line at Northwell Health’s North Shore University Hospital is seeking an experienced Full-time Nocturnist to join our team in the CV-ICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit).
The candidate must be fellowship trained and Board Certified in Critical Care. Primary board certifications can include Internal Medicine, Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, or General Surgery. Candidates graduating from their sub-specialty training will also be considered depending upon CV-ICU experience during fellowship training. The ideal candidate should also carry exceptional inter-personal skills with a goal of sharing a vision of unparalleled delivery of care through teamwork, collaboration, innovation, and persistence for excellence.
North Shore University Hospital has been awarded the Silver Beacon Award for Cardiothoracic ICU. This 756-bed hospital has more than 4,000 specially and subspecialty physicians. The CVICU is a 44 bed ICU that cares for both Cardiology critical care patients and Cardiothoracic ICU patients. The Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery service line performs cardiac-related surgeries including but not limited to all open procedures, transcatheter based therapies, ECMO, and Bi-V support for high-risk PCI. The program has received many accolades for quality, including being one of the few programs in New York State to receive the prestigious double asterisk award from the Department of Health for outcomes that are significantly better than the statewide average.
