Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to contribute to advanced grant-funded research initiatives, data analysis, and intervention implementation. This role provides hands-on experience in behavioral health and implementation science research, and offers support for launching an independently-funded research career.
This hybrid role is based in Eugene, Oregon. It is anticipated to begin part-time and ramp up to a full-time position beginning in May or June 2025.
This position provides a unique opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research that aims to impact public decision makers as well as behavioral health, child welfare, and criminal justice-involved populations. There will be substantial mentorship and career development support for an independent research career.
This position will have opportunities to present research at national conferences, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary research environment.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior research staff to conduct advanced research, including:
- Planning and executing data collection and advanced statistical analysis.
- Ensuring fidelity in intervention implementation and community partner engagement.
- Developing training curricula and supervising intervention implementation.
- Assisting in training and supervising data collection staff.
- Assisting with dissemination of research findings.
- Receive mentorship in pursuing extramural funding (e.g., NIH K-series awards, supplements) and participate in career development training.
- Attend professional conferences for continuing education and dissemination of research findings, serving as a primary or supporting presenter.
- Write or assist with writing grant progress reports and new grant applications.
- Lead components of large funding proposals or take the lead on smaller grant applications.
- Work with a mentor to develop qualifications for promotion to Research Scientist I.
Qualifications
- Doctorate in a health services or applied field (e.g., criminology, economics, epidemiology, nursing, psychology, psychiatry, public health, social work, sociology).
- Experience with measurement, statistics, psychometric analyses, methodology, qualitative/mixed methods analysis.
- Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS), qualitative analysis software (e.g., NVIVO, MAXQDA), and advanced software (e.g., AMOS, MixORD).
- Familiarity with data collection and survey design platforms (e.g., Qualtrics), spreadsheets (Excel), and databases (Access, Dbase).
- Experience in training in human subjects’ research protocols and ethical conduct of research.
- Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
- Preferred experience in investigative teams, training/supervision of clinical or research teams, and publishing journal articles.
- Ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders, including non-technical and clinical staff.
- Demonstrated flexibility, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to work beyond standard hours to meet project deadlines and travel as needed.
- Preference for individuals with lived experience (e.g., recovery from substance use, former justice system involvement) and/or applicants from underrepresented populations.

The anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $63,706 -$71,514 annual salary. There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education, experience, local market conditions, and internal equity.
