Summary: The Clinical Simulation Nurse Educator will coordinate all clinical education experiences in the Nursing Clinical Arts Community (NCAC). The Director of Clinical Simulation Education will develop and implement the Chestnut Hill College Clinical Education Programs including but not limited to: hiring certified Simulation Nurse Educators; hiring clinical skills educators; aligning all clinical education with the overall nursing curriculum; identifying appropriate equipment needs for the NCAC; developing the NCAC budget.

Position Qualifications
- A Master of Science degree in nursing
- National certification as a Nursing Simulation Educator
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Nursing Simulation Educator
- 2—4 years’ experience as a nurse educator
- An unencumbered license OR a multi-state professional nurse license from appropriate states to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
The Director of Clinical Simulation Education will:
- Have Certification as a Clinical Simulation Nurse Educator:
- Identify educational theories and outcome evidence associated with simulation and implement simulation education based on those theories and evidence.
- Assemble a team of educators to prepare students for clinical excellence utilizing a variety of teaching learning modalities including low and high fidelity simulation.
- Create a learning environment that encourages active learning, repetitive practice, and reflection to facilitate clinical learning and decision-making in an open learning environment.
- Identify objectives and expected outcomes for each simulation-based experience.
- Develop evaluation rubrics to determine acquisition of KSAs in clinical education.
- Participate in all curricular development and implementation work with faculty.
- Develop and manage the Simulation portion of the NCAC budget.
- Simulation faculty will attend in-house educational programs in preparation for their role in clinical simulation exercises. As well, all clinical simulation faculty must attend a minimum of 6 simulation continuing education programs annually
- Maintain continuing professional development in accordance with Pennsylvania Board of Nursing regulation regarding continuing education with a minimum of 6 continuing education credits/units annually in the area of clinical specialization.
