Job Summary
The Director of Finance will oversee the financial activities and work closely with the CEO to ensure a strong focus on both the mission and the margin of the organization.
Responsibilities for this position include the following:
- Work with CEO to develop strategic plan, ensure financial viability, maintain internal controls and ensure operational efficiency.
- Work with Finance Office Manager to review/revise infrastructure and policies and procedures for the Finance Office.
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations.
- Work with accounting software and Chart of Accounts design to measure fiscal activity and accurate financial statements for two distinctive service units.
- Prepare Cash Disbursements, Reconciliation of Bank and Subsidiary Ledger Accounts, Journal Entries for Payroll, Month End Close and Financial Statement Preparation.
- Prepare/analyze all financial statements and other reports in a timely manner for review of CEO and Board of Directors.
- Work with Finance Office Manager to prepare for annual independent audit.
- Work with the CEO and Management Team in planning and overseeing their budgets.
- Participate in Board and Finance Committee meetings to interpret financial reports and engage in strategic planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 5-10 years of experience
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience in nonprofit organizations preferred
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Ability to work well with senior management team and board of directors
- Ability to mentor other team members required
- Experience in non-profit organizations and/or senior care preferred
