POSITION: Food Service Director
CLASSIFICATION: Permanent,Full-time, & Exempt
CONTRACT DAYS: 215 days
HOURS: 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
START DATE: March 1, 2025 (will train with current food service director through June 30, 2025)
DESCRIPTION: The Food Service Director is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of school food service for all participating schools of the Chetek-Weyerhaeuser Area School District. This may include program planning, administration, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring. Duties of the Food Service Director include sanitation, food safety, nutrition and menu planning, food production, facility layout and design, procurement, financial management, recordkeeping, program accountability, marketing, customer service, and personnel management.
QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify for the position, candidates must meet one of the following educational and experience requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent educational experience in one of the following areas: food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education, culinary arts, business, or a related field; OR a Bachelor’s degree in any field paired with a State-recognized certificate for school nutrition directors; OR a Bachelor’s degree in any major along with at least one year of relevant food service experience.
- Associate's degree or equivalent educational experience in one specified area (food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education, culinary arts, business, or a related field), along with at least one year of relevant food service experience.
- High school diploma (or GED) accompanied by three years of relevant food service experience. In addition, the candidate must complete at least 8 hours of food safety training within 5 years before their start date or within 30 calendar days after starting their position.
COMPENSATION: Salary ranges from $45,000 to $ 48,000 based on experience and qualifications; the position includes a full benefit package.
