Job Overview:
Cheverus High School is seeking a ServSafe certified company or individual to oversee and operate the kitchen for our summer camps. As the Head of Kitchen Operations, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and serving meals to summer camp participants. This role ensures the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen and compliance with all safety and health regulations. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and passionate about providing healthy meals to our summer campers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking, and serving meals for all summer camp programs.
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Supervise kitchen staff or volunteers to ensure timely preparation and service.
- Manage inventory and supplies, ordering food and materials as needed to meet the demand of the program.
- Track meal counts and participation for reporting and ensure compliance with any feeding program guidelines.
- Communicate with the camp director to ensure smooth operation of meal service.
Schedule:
This is a seasonal role running from mid-June through early August 2024, but preparations may start as early as May. The typical schedule will align with camp operations, with meals served at mid-morning for snack, and lunch
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- ServSafe certification required.
- Prior experience in food service or kitchen management (school, summer camp, or community program experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of food safety and health regulations.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage inventory and supplies efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
