Cheverus High School is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated Swim Coach to lead our high school swim program starting November 1st, 2025. . The coach is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and supervision of the swim team, ensuring a positive and safe environment that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and the development of student-athletes. Qualifications
Prior successful coaching and/or swimming experience is preferred.
Applicants must hold or acquire a current State of Maine Department of Education Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and fingerprinting via the DOE prior to employment.

Responsibilities

Plan and lead daily practices, swim meets, and team events.
- Teach proper technique, conditioning, and strategy for all strokes and events.
- Supervise student-athletes during practices, meets, and team functions.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants at all times.
- Foster the development of leadership, character, and sportsmanship.
- Maintain and inventory swim equipment.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administrators.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and league/conference regulations.
- Assist athletes with academic eligibility and college recruiting as needed.
Coordinate with assistant coaches and oversee their duties.
Job Requirements
NFHS Required Online Trainings: Concussion Management, Heat Acclimatization, Sudden Cardiac Arrest and Suicide Prevention Training as well as CPR/First Aid (which we provide onsite).
Position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.
