Cashier

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service while efficiently handling transactions at our grocery store. As a Cashier, you will be the first point of contact for customers, ensuring a positive shopping experience and maintaining the accuracy of cash handling.

Duties

• Operate the cash register and process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing any concerns.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
• Maintain knowledge of store products and promotions to assist customers effectively.
• Perform basic math calculations for sales transactions and returns.
• Assist in restocking shelves and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.
• Utilize phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries or directing calls to appropriate staff members.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations during busy periods.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a cashier or in retail sales is preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse customers.
• Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
• Familiarity with cash registers and retail math concepts is advantageous.

Pay: From $14.70 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week

• Cashier: 1 year (Preferred)
