Join Our Team as a Summer Mental Health Aide at Camp Chewonki!
Are you passionate about supporting youth mental health in a dynamic and nature-filled environment? Camp Chewonki is seeking a Summer Mental Health Aide to be part of our Health and Wellness Center (HWC) team, ensuring the social and emotional well-being of our campers.
Location: Wiscasset, Maine (On Campus, in-person)
Schedule/ 2025 Dates: June 23, 2025 - August 18, 2025
Reports to: Director of Health and Wellness Center

What You’ll Do:
Provide compassionate, non-judgmental support to campers and staff.
Conduct daily wellness check-ins to ensure campers’ emotional needs are met.
Work closely with our Mental Health Coordinator (LCSW) in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Assist in designing and implementing educational and skill-building interventions that promote resilience.
Maintain accurate and confidential electronic health records.
Serve as a trusted resource for campers and staff, helping to create a safe, inclusive, and emotionally healthy camp experience.

Qualifications
Must pass Criminal Background Check.
Bachelors or Associates Degree in the Mental Health Field (Social Work/Psychology/Education) preferred.
Two years of experience working in a human services related field (e.g. social/behavioral health services, special education/education, mediation) preferred.
Experience working with children/adolescents in a camp setting preferred.
Experience/training as a Behavioral Health Professional (BHP), Ed Tech, Otherwise Mental Health Professional, Behavior Analyst Technician, or MHRT/C helpful.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and move up to 10 lb at a time.
Camp activity areas are spread over many acres. Must be able to walk outdoors as needed throughout the camp day and night.

Salary for the full Camp Chewonki season is $5,000
