Our Opportunity : Chewy is seeking a Software Engineer III (AI / ML) in one of our hub locations for our customer service technology team. This is a high-profile position that will have exposure across the entire business, influencing the vision and implementation of architecture, design and features for an AI platform. The role will allow you to act as an Individual Contributor, part of a team of strong engineers building functionality to improve Chewy’s customer servicing capabilities using AI and ML.What You’ll Do : You will participate in working with all the top engineers at Chewy to evolve the architecture direction of all development at ChewyYou will be responsible for design, development, integrating, training, delivery, fine-tuning and support of large-scale AI / LLM modelsYou will be the engineering lead. You will work with the team and other partner teams to define our technical roadmapYou will drive innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative developmentCoach and mentor engineers on the teamWhat You’ll Need : 10 years of experience in Software Development as a software engineer3 years of building and designing ML application platforms at scale3 years of back-end Java experience3 years of experience with NLP1 years of experience with Generative AIStrong knowledge of PythonKnowledge of cloud & orchestration technologies (AWS Services, Terraform, Jenkins, etc)Knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the full software development lifecycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operationsStrong communication skills as well as experience in mentoring and educating your peersBonus (if applicable) : Master’s or PhD in Machine LearningExperience in e-commerce and / or customer service technologyExperience deploying large scale neural networks in a production environmentCompensation & Benefits : Our salary range for a Software Engineer III position is $134,500.00 - $214,000.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location.
