Chex Finer Foods is a leading food distributor providing specialty and natural foods to independent and chain retailers. We are seeking an Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team. The accountant will assist with various accounting tasks to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, has an aptitude for problem solving, ready to take on responsibilities to support the accounting team.
Responsibilities:
- General Ledger Maintenance
- Prepare entries for revenues, expense allocations, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed asset depreciation and adjusting and reclassification journal entries.
- Perform general account analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, accruals and prepaid expenses. Make this is the main point
- Assist in month-end close activities.
- Reporting and data analysis relating to credits, inventory and freight.
- Identifying and reporting any financial discrepancies or irregularities.
- Assisting with all functions in the accounting department as needed, such as accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required. 3 years of accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using an ERP system.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
