INVENTORY CONTROL COORDINATOR
POSITION SUMMARY
The Inventory Control Coordinator will work as an important member of our Operations Team reporting to the Inventory Control Manager and will be primarily responsible for the verification of the accuracy of the entirety of the Chex Finer Foods inventory. You will be responsible to lead and implement cycling counts and slotting to maintain high levels of inventory accuracy and reduce annual adjustment costs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes but is not limited to the following:
Daily
- Perform daily cycle counts
- Investigate and correct out of stocks and discrepancies to bin balances
- Coordinate with accounting on all credits issued and resolve, when possible, by using inventory analysis
- Interact with other departments, in a constructive and professional manner, collaborating on root cause analysis and corrective action
- Maintain and coordinate all aspects of slotting in the building and in the WMS, pick paths, locations, unused slots, etc.
- Rectifying variances and justification of variances on an ongoing basis
- Fix vendor issues primarily, by check/verifying all new items (UPC, BBD, pack size, condition of item) and reporting issues to PCM/Procurement for resolution
- Act as point person in Operations for any food safety concerns or recalled items
- Maintain communication with buyers via email for extreme overage/shortages
- Rectifying and documenting breaks in item rotation
Weekly
- Prepare weekly reports on cycle counts, inventory trends, track adjustment metrics
- Work with purchasing on lots approaching, expiration, seasonal items and, slow movers
- Coordinate and assist in repacking of all damages if salvageable (recover $$$ from FOB damages)
- Coordinate RTV pallets and monitoring when they depart
Monthly
- Re-slot items to reduce warehouse damages, spoils and miss picks
- Prepare monthly reports on cycle counts, inventory trends, inventory accuracy, track adjustment metrics
- Reports for slotting system will be generated monthly and sent to partners for analysis
- Identify items for repacks to maximize recoup of inventory dollars
- Work with purchasing and sales to develop calendar for the following month and when counts need to be completed to support sales and seasonal programs
Seasonal
- In coordination with director, 1st and 2nd shift managers, plan and coordinate all slotting programs
- Proactive seasonal management of inventory down to zero during holiday programs
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2/4-year degree preferred or equivalent work experience
- High school diploma/GED required
- 1-2 years previous experience in inventory control management
- Candidate will be detailed oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Must be experienced with Microsoft office apps, Excel being the most important
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be self-motivated, confident, energetic and possess the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment while displaying tact and diplomacy with peers and management alike to achieve goals
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds repetitively
- Minimum 3 years in similar position preferred
- Bilingual candidates are a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No nights
- No weekends
