Cheyenne Mountain Resort opened in 1985 and sits on 25 acres of land. The 4-Star Full Service property is nestled in the lush greens of Southern Colorado Springs and oversees Impressive mountain views, along with exciting activities like golf, swimming, and tennis. These allow for the unique experience that you can only get at this resort.
Salary Range: $58,000 - $65,000
Position Overview: As Banquet Manager, you will lead our rockstar team in excellence, creating memorable guest experiences, and delivering impeccable customer service. Our ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the city market, a proven track record of growing revenue, profit and market share and a dynamic, analytical background.
Job Functions & Responsibilities: The Banquet Manager is responsible for supervising and managing the daily operations of all banquet events, catering orders, and the Banquets team. Coordinate with the Sales team to understand requirements and expectations for functions, plan and manage all events, coordinate operations including food and beverage, set up, service and breakdown, resolve customer complaints as necessary. Train and manage the Banquets team to achieve customer satisfaction, quality service and compliance with local and corporate standard operating procedures. May be involved in the budgeting process and monitoring of daily revenues and payroll expenses.
- Effectively and proactively monitors the daily functions of the Banquet/Event Services department. This role also includes working and communicating closely with all hotel departments and ensuring a successful and effective event resulting in a positive guest experience
- Supervise, empower, lead, coach and motivate the events team towards achieving exceptional guest service results and colleague engagement
- Ability to assist the hotel in reaching top service scores on our Meeting Planner and guest surveys.
- Responsible for the appropriate and timely set up of all functions, meetings, and food service while maintaining standards of food and beverage specifications
- Responsible for proactively reviewing staffing and equipment needs
- Responsible for ensuring coordination and execution of all events between Banquets/Event Services, Event Set Up, Culinary, Stewarding, Event Sales and Event Planning, and Beverage
- Responsible for maintaining a high energy, positive, professional appearance
- Performing daily walk-throughs in all function space, storerooms, and outlets to ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations and Hyatt Corporate standards
- Ability to develop ideas for special events and holiday functions
- Supports and Manages the Events Department while working closely with the Food and Beverage Director and other hotel departments. Leadership responsibilities may also include Convention Services Set Up and Banquet Beverage
- Administrative tasks may include the facilitation of payroll, reports, and forecasts
Qualifications
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Physically fit with good stamina for physical tasks such as moving and lifting furniture and standing for long periods of time
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and HACCP standards
- T.I.P.S. and ServSafe certified
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must possess the following strengths: high energy, motivational leader, effective communicator, strong developer and trainer and effective in providing exceptional customer service
- Previous experience as Assistant Banquet Manager or Banquet Supervisor is preferred
- Full-Time Management Position that requires full flexibility, including the ability to work weekends, holidays and, a varied schedule
