ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The FBO General Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the airport’s Fixed Base Operation (FBO). The General Manager reports to the Director of Aviation and provides high-level industry standards in safety and customer service. In addition, The General Manager will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing team in all aspects of the delivery of flight support services such as line operations, customer relations, fuel sales, hangar leasing, new business development, and quality control. The General Manager will ensure the profitability of the FBO and conformity with all regulations and environmental compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in business, Aviation Management, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of progressive work experience in aviation (including 3 years of management) are required. Working knowledge of CFR139.321, ATA Part 103, ASTM Part D1655FAA, and a clear understanding of TSA and the State of Wyoming rules and regulations affecting airport/FBO operations. The FBO General Manager must demonstrate the following core competencies: entrepreneurship, change leadership, negotiation and influence, business acumen, operational decision-making, customer orientation, driving for results managing and measuring work, interpersonal skills, and superior ability to relate and communicate with customers positively.
DUTIES
- Effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors.
- Conduct ongoing competition analysis including selling points, product offerings, and pricing
- Remain locally competitive by managing in liaison with the administrative team
- Establish a culture that promotes safety through daily observations, shift briefings, routine audits monthly safety meetings, training, and documented safety procedures. Formulate procedures for use in the event of aircraft accidents, fires, or other emergencies.
- Establish a culture that promotes customer loyalty by creating an environment of increased employee engagement
- Regularly interact with customers to promote the FBO and to measure the level of customer satisfaction. Use customer feedback to constantly develop and improve capabilities and processes
- Creates new opportunities by developing professional relationships with internal and external customers
- Regularly interact with customers to promote the FBO and to measure the level of customer satisfaction
- Ensure proper staffing levels are maintained based on a daily/weekly/monthly basis and volume
- Develop and administer the departmental budget with insight to develop new business plans with capital requirements and anticipated performance and future opportunities for the FBO
- Responsible for the financial management of the FBO including gross margins, capital expenditures, budgeting, forecasting, planning, and expense management
- Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Perform leadership functions such as conducting annual reviews, making hiring decisions, and managing the performance of direct reports to include mentoring and skill development.
- Ensure employees receive company communications and necessary training including safety, customer service standards, Company values, etc.
- Ensure training and development of employees to improve work performance and maximize employee potential.
- Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages
- Read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals. Financial reports and legal documents

- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
SKILLS
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to positively relate and communicate. Must also be able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and web-based applications
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to lead by example
