What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Specialist position at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center?
A Day in the Life of an Inventory Specialist:
Works under the supervision of the Materials Operations Manager. Responsible for the flow of supplies into the operating room environment which will include maintaining established inventory par levels, replenish inventory, prepare and process supply requisitions through purchasing, assist with issues, and initiate follow-up procedures.

Here Is What You Will Be Doing:
- Physically counts inventory and projects product need.
- Places orders as necessary; verifies the order.
- Assists in maintaining item files and PAR levels and making adjustments as needed
- Stays informed of continuing changes in the industry by reviewing catalogs, company publications, directories, trade journals and the internet.
- Keeps abreast of changes affecting the supply and demand for needed products and materials.
- Receives orders and confirms quality and quantity of those items. Rotates stock and checks expiration dates.
- Maintains the communication process with the Surgical Materials and the OR Staff on a daily basis.

- Ability to deal effectively with patients, families, visitors, physicians and staff.
- Ability to assess, evaluate, explain and problem solve using critical thinking.
- Able to handle many stressors simultaneously.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and computer systems.
Here Is What You Will Need:
- High school diploma or GED
- One year experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center involving all aspects of medical and surgical inventory
