The Security Specialist analyzes, implements, and coordinates security reporting, badging, and monitoring activities. - Fulfill the responsibilities, qualifications, and competencies of a Security Officer.
- Create security patrol schedule to include the daily schedule of all assigned security personnel based off trend analysis.
- Manage security reporting system.
- Review reports and situations for potential negative impact.
- Create employee/contractor badges when necessary.
- Assist with conducting off-hours physical security inspections.
- Provide employee involvement/security awareness educational programs and workshops.
- Identify program issues and potential negative situations; develop and formulate possible solutions; report possible countermeasures to Security Program Manager.
- Aid in monthly physical security checks of lighting, alarms, call boxes, and camera functionality.
- Collaborates and works closely with contracted Systems Integration team scheduling routine maintenance and new and existing projects.
- Assist in developing and updating Security Competency Tasks.
- Assist in maintaining physical security functions.
- Public speaking skills to participate in and/or lead a committee meeting.
- Ability to document security program and periodic surveys.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- General computer skills to include the ability to learn security management software.
- Knowledge of hospital security and emergency protocols.
- Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations.
- Three (3) or more years of healthcare security experience or other related security field
- Two (2) or more years of law enforcement experience
- Valid USA driver’s license
- Must have clean driving record that follows Cheyenne Regional Medical Center’s driving guidelines
- 60 Days: CPI training within 60 days of start date
- 6 months: Basic Certification through International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) within six (6) months of start date
- 18 months: Advanced Certification through International Associated for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) within eighteen (18) months of start date
- Associate's Degree or higher in Criminal Justice or related discipline
