This is advanced clerical-accounting work involving the application of bookkeeping principles and practices in the Bursar’s office.
Education, Training, and/or Experience:
A high school diploma or associate’s degree in accounting or business administration with
one year as a fiscal assistant or three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Knowledge & Skills, Abilities
Thorough knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices.
Knowledge of modern office practices and equipment.
Some knowledge of accounting principles and methods.
Ability to prepare financial reports and statements.
Ability to apply and adapt established methods to financial transactions
Ability to perform detailed work involving written or numerical data and to make arithmetical calculations rapidly and accurately.
Working Conditions
Working conditions are in an office environment that is generally free from hazards, well lighted and ventilated. This is a non-exempt position that may require occasionally working beyond the normally scheduled workweek, modifying existing work schedules, or flexing hours to meet University needs.

PC, printer, calculator, telephone, credit card machine, photocopier, and fax machine.

- Post payment plan cash receipts and update delinquent payment plan status.
- Analyze forms (Student Information Sheets, FERPA and book vouchers to determine completeness and accuracy of information posted to student accounts.
- Maintain the debt collection controls with PA Attorney General’s Office along with compliance and regulations.
- Update student accounts upon withdrawal.
- Maintain and review collections.
- Post online payments to student accounts.
- Participate in student registration
- Daily filing. Answer incoming calls, e-mails and mail. Record incoming voice mail messages.
- Additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
