Sommelier

Chez Fifi, recently opened French bistro located on the UES, seeks a full-time Sommelier. Chez Fifi is part of the growing, We All Gotta Eat! Restaurant Group, that includes Michelin Star rated Sushi Noz locations in NY and soon LA, as well as, Miami restaurants: Eleventh Street Pizza and Fooq's, a Mediterranean restaurant, lounge and nightclub scheduled to open in Fall 2025.

We are seeking a career minded Sommelier with high level knowledge of French and Spanish wines, as well as, a broad knowledge of old and new world wines.  Must have proven sales ability and impeccable service and hospitality skills.

Must be available to work four to five shifts per week, including Sundays and Mondays.

Responsibilities include:

• Working in coordination with managers, culinary team, captains, server assistants to provide the superlative experience for our guests.
• Work the floor during service with an emphasis on fine wine service with the ability to upsell.
• Must possess high-level knowledge of wines and beverages on our lists to recommend appropriate selections as well as the ability to upsell.
• Must assist the Wine Director with ordering, inventory, storage and list updates.
• Must assist in wine education for the FOH staff.
• Must ensure the maintenance/cleanliness and storage of all wine and beverage service ware.
• Must communicate with knowledge, confidence and enthusiasm the details of the wine offerings and as related to the cuisine and service options.
• Maintain detailed guest notes including preferences and expectations.
• Process guest payments according to guidelines. Handling of gratuities must take place in the public view.
• Report guest issues to management and work in coordination to resolve any issues.
• Maintain punctuality, focus and dedication to the overall success of the restaurant.
• Remain  professional and respectful in all interactions with colleagues, guest and with all who do business with the Company at all times.

Physical requirements: Position requires standing, walking and bending for long periods of time.  Able to lift up to 30 pounds.
