Responsibilities
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
- Performs routine, urgent, and STAT electrocardiogram (EKG) procedures on acute and ambulatory patient populations.
- Applies and removes ambulatory rhythm monitors.
- Edits and processes reports in the EKG PACS system.
- Performs daily maintenance and quality control.
- Cleans and stocks rooms and carts.
- Performs preventive maintenance on equipment. Staff member will contact clinical engineering, supervisor, or director if equipment is malfunctioning or requires repair.
- Participates in all safety, security and infection control programs that are mandatory as well as those required by the department or facility.
- Demonstrates work practices consistent with CHI Health values and department specific safety, security and infection control policies.
- Authorized to make entries in the medical record that are within the scope of the position.
- Abides by applicable laws and regulations relative to safety, security, and patient privacy (HIPAA).
- Must have ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse and multi-cultural environment.

Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Licenses & Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (CPR) from the American Heart Association
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proper patient preparation and lead placement for ECG’s, holter monitors, and event recorders.
- Proper use of each type of equipment for the above procedures and the ECG reporting system.
- Basic cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias.
- Ability to transport equipment to various areas in the hospital and assist patients on and off exam table.
Pay Range
$15.49 - $21.30 /hour
