Responsibilities
Job Summary / Purpose
The MSO provides credentialing services to multiple facilities within the CHI Saint Joseph Health System. The MSO Manger oversees the operation of the CHI Saint Joseph MSO Office to develop, manage and monitor processes and procedures that support the credentialing and re-credentialing process. Oversees all the credentialing functions including application management and primary source verification. Ensures compliance with the appropriate accrediting and regulatory standards. Supervises credentialing staff in the day-to-day management of the overall MSO credentialing process and database management. In addition, this position will work with leadership for the development and maintenance of a timely and accurate credentialing process. The MSO Manager will report to the Market Director.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
- Manages the MSO credentialing process for CHI Saint Joseph Health clinical providers, in accordance with regulatory standards and Health System Bylaws and Policies and Procedures.
- Manages all aspects of the credentials verification process within their designated team.
- Coordinates the management of the application process, to ensure distribution, receipt, processing, and timely delivery to clients.
- Responsible for ensuring staff are following all established processes to ensure comprehensive and accurate completion of job duties.
- Coordinates with system administrator in the management of the electronic credentials application to ensure distribution, receipt, assignment and timely completion in accordance with credentialing policies and procedures.
- Monitors and reports turnaround times for processing of applications, with focus on delivery of a high-quality product with the greatest efficiency.
- Oversees the supervision of MSO staff, which includes work allocation, training, enforcement and auditing of internal procedures and problem resolution. Motivates staff to achieve peak productivity and performance.
- Performs credentialing audits as applicable to ensure delivery of a high-quality product, with the greatest efficiency, in the least amount of time.
- Not only processes credentialing applications, but assists in PSV and other tasks as needed during times of heavy volume or shortage of staff.
- Assures that credentialing data base entry is accurate and consistent resulting in accuracy of information related to reports.
- Functions as primary MSO Credentials contact for all internal and external contacts; develops and maintains positive working relationships.
- Responsible for assigned team members and makes recommendations to Market Director on adequate, qualified staffing needs and workflow. Recommends new policies and procedures as applicable.

Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline
Required Licensure and Certifications
CPCS or PMSVSC - within 12 months
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training
Knowledge of TJC, CMS, State and Federal standards; Ability to interact with a variety of professional personalities and handle sensitive situations and information with tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality; Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently, and select and utilize resources available effectively to maximize productivity; Possess critical thinking skills to resolve complex issues that may outstretch to other facilities and markets. Excellent communication skills are required in working with the providers, practice staff, internal teams, and leadership as the point of contact for the facility. Ability to work independently, dealing effectively with a variety of tasks, exercising good professional judgment, integrity and tact. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Website applications. Ability to work flexible hours as needed to accomplish the demands of the position and the related workload.
Pay Range
$26.38 - $38.26 /hour
