Responsibilities
Job Summary / Purpose
Supervisor of Security Department –has primary responsibility of assisting the Managers/Director of Security with the effective day-to-day operations of security services. It is expected that the Supervisor Security will demonstrate behavior consistent with CommonSpirit Health core value and Humankindness. The Supervisor Security shall support CommonSpirit Health’s strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality improvement/process improvement activities.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
- Supervises the day-to-day operations of the security function to include the protection of physical assets and the securing of the entire facility. This duty involves the direction, oversight and evaluation of in-house security officers and off-duty law enforcement officers
- Establishes and Maintains an active liaison with other internal departments.
- Interviews and selects staff, both ensuring each staff member is provided appropriate orientation and on-going training to ensure the highest quality customer service
- Provides coaching and counseling to staff; completes annual performance appraisals with the approval of the Director of Security, Provides verbal and written feedback to employees as appropriate; completes counseling documentation as needed with the approval of the Director of Security.

Develops, Implements, and Maintains security plans and procedures.
- Operates the employee and vendor badging systems as needed.
- Reviews and evaluates security related reports, surveys and audits.
- Make security decisions in the absence of the Manager/Director of Security
- Ensures security employees are adhering to security procedures through constant evaluation and frequent patrol of hospital property
- Prepares security related reports and information for management as required
- Provides assistance to the Manager/Director of Security in the preparation and monitoring of the security budget as requested.
- Conducts discrete internal investigations as required.
- Coordinates planning and preparedness activities for the continued development and maintenance of the System’s Emergency Preparedness Plans as directed by the Manager/Director of Security.
- Accepts 24/7 responsibility for the security function, delegating as appropriate to ensure the safety and security of the facility.

Minimum Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree - Business, Criminal Justice, or related experience. 1 or more years of experience in the discipline or 3 or more years of experience in the discipline
Required Licensure and Certifications
AUTO:KY BLS-CPR
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Training
Maintain all other required training/certifications thereafter while employed by CommonSpirit Health.
