Responsibilities
- Verifies requisition and patient . bracelet prior to transporting pt. to department
- Transports patients to and from the appropriate care areas using the appropriate method of transportation.
- Maintains the cleanliness of carts, stretchers, wheelchairs and other transportation equipment, and monitors equipment to ensure proper working order.
- Assists staff in the movement of patients from stretchers, wheel chairs, or beds.
- Complies with Hospital / Department / Unit policies.
- Documents activities consistent with Hospital / Department / Unit Guidelines to include keeping accurate logs of patient transport.
- Replenishes supplies used in transporting patients; Maintain organized holding area including stretchers, wheelchairs, slide boards, linens, and oxygen tanks.
- Understands process for reporting damaged equipment to Bio-Med (applies red stickers to damaged or broken equipment).
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
