Position Overview:
As a Fine Dining Service Staff member at Chianti's, you will begin a unique and comprehensive training program that spans multiple roles within the restaurant. You will start by gaining hands-on experience in various key areas including the Busser/Server Assistant, Expo, Host, and Bartender roles, and eventually progress to a full-fledged Server position.
You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced staff, understand the nuances of Northern Italian cuisine, and develop a deep knowledge of our menu and service standards. This is an ideal position for someone who is eager to grow, take on new responsibilities, and eventually deliver an elevated dining experience in a fine dining setting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Busser/Server Assistant
- Assist servers in setting up tables, clearing dishes, and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area.
- Refill water glasses, serve bread, and assist in food delivery to guests.
- Ensure all areas of the dining room are tidy and prepared for the next course.
2. Expo (Expeditor)
- Ensure orders are prepared and presented according to restaurant standards.
- Coordinate between the kitchen and the front-of-house to ensure timely service and accuracy.
- Assist with plating, garnishing, and delivering dishes to guests.
- Communicate clearly with the kitchen to resolve any issues with orders.
3. Host
- Greet guests warmly and manage reservations and walk-ins.
- Manage seating assignments to optimize the dining experience and flow of the restaurant.
- Provide guests with menus and communicate any specials or promotions.
- Ensure a welcoming, professional, and polished appearance of the front-of-house.
4. Bartender
- Prepare and serve beverages, including specialty cocktails, wine, and beer, in accordance with the restaurant’s standards.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the bar area.
- Provide recommendations on wine pairings and cocktails based on guest preferences.
- Check ID to verify legal drinking age and serve alcohol responsibly.
5. Server (Final Role After Training Completion)
- Deliver an exceptional dining experience to guests, offering personalized service and menu knowledge.
- Take orders, make recommendations, and ensure all guest needs are met during their dining experience.
- Maintain a strong knowledge of Northern Italian cuisine, wine pairings, and ingredients.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of food and beverages.
- Handle payments, tips, and customer feedback with professionalism.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in the food service industry is preferred, but not required.
- Passion for fine dining, hospitality, and learning about Northern Italian cuisine.
- Ability to multitask, work efficiently, and maintain a calm demeanor under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and high standards for cleanliness and organization.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol (if training as a bartender).
