Chicago Beach CleanUp is expanding its team for the 2025 CleanUp Season! We are looking for passionate individuals who want to make a difference through community building and environmental action.
About Chicago Beach CleanUp (CBCU):
Founded in 2019 by a group of passionate high school students, Chicago Beach CleanUp has organized over 100 events with corporate partners like Google, Toyota, and CHANEL, and leads the city’s major cleanups for Earth Day and World Cleanup Day. CBCU is excited to expand its team of dedicated individuals committed to building a strong community and creating lasting environmental change.
We’re looking for individuals who can support us in some (or all!) of the following areas:
- Cleanup Leading – Lead cleanups at Chicago's stunning public beaches, coordinating with hundreds of passionate volunteers to create lasting environmental change.
- Community Management – Keep our volunteers engaged through group chats & weekly newsletters.
- Partnership Management – Oversee communication efforts related to planning cleanups and fundraising, collaborating with some of Chicago's most iconic companies to foster and sustain strong partnerships.
- Content Creation & Social Media Management – Work closely with our cleanup leaders to capture exciting and engaging content that highlights the fun, meaningful, and impactful work happening at CBCU cleanups! Manage our social media accounts on Instagram, LinkedIn, and more.
- Administrative Assistance – Support with supplies procurement, email monitoring, invoicing, website management, and social media inbox management to keep everything organized and running smoothly.
What We’re Looking for in a Candidate:
- A passion for community-building in Chicago
- Creativity, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills
- Excitement to speak in front of groups of 10-50 professionals
- Ability to work outdoors for 2 hours at a time
- A positive attitude toward embracing both opportunities and challenges
Experience Our Ideal Candidate May Have:
- You ran marketing or communications for a school org
- You managed sales or operations for a small business
- You were a tour guide or peer mentor at your university
- You run a successful social media page
Pay & Details:
- $17 per hour
- Up to 20 hours per week
- Position Duration: April–September 2025 (with potential for limited hours in October & November)
