Are you a Staff Accountant looking for a rewarding and challenging role in psychiatric care? Chicago Behavioral Hospital is seeking a compassionate Staff Accountant to join our team.
The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing accounting activities needed to produce accurate and timely financial statements. This position assists the CFO in achieving the facility’s financial goals in compliance with facility policies and procedures.
- Preparing journal entries, completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and maintaining the facility fixed assets register.
- Analyzes actual-to-budget variance of facility operating expenses.
- Reviews accounts payable coding and aging.
- Serves as backup for bi-weekly payroll processing.
- Participates in monthly accounting close as assigned.
- Assists CFO in the production of Monthly Operating Report (MOR).
- Assists CFO in the completion of external requests, such as interim and year-end audits, workman’s compensation audits, etc.
- Manages petty cash.
- Deposits cash receipts timely and accurate.
- Prepares weekly staffing report.
- Prepares vendor 1099’s.
- Completes a variety of clerical projects as assigned.
Your Experience Matters What we’re looking for:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred. CPA preferred.
- Experience: Two (2) - Five (5) years of experience in accounting and month-end closing activities preferred. Hospital experience preferred. Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel (formulas, pivot tables, etc.) preferred.

Compensation:
This is a full-time role; the expected compensation range is $75,000.00 to $85,000.00 annually. We’re eager to engage with all qualified candidates, and consideration will be provided to experience and skill level. Join us as our Staff Accountant!
