Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Medical Coder located in Schaumburg, IL. The Medical Coder will be responsible for accurately coding medical records using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes. Daily tasks will include reviewing medical documentation to ensure coding reflects the procedures performed and uphold compliance with regulations. The Medical Coder will collaborate with healthcare providers and other staff to resolve coding issues and ensure accurate billing.
Qualifications
- Experience in Medical Coding and Coding Experience
- Proficiency in using RHIT and Health Information Management systems
- Strong understanding of Medical Terminology
- Attention to detail and accuracy in code assignment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Relevant certification (e.g., CPC, RHIT) is preferred
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or a related field is beneficial
- Experience in a cardiology setting is a plus
