The Registered Nurse promotes patients' health by working collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, providing physical and psychological support to patients/ families, and coordination with hospitals.
Job Duties:
- Provide patient care for well and sick appointments. Collaborate with the physician on the patient's plan of care. Accurately interpret and implement treatment plan as prescribed by the Physician or Advanced Practice Nurse.
- Performs nursing assessment utilizing a variety of assessment methods, and nursing care according to procedures/protocols.
- Anticipates emergent situations and intervenes effectively and accordingly.
- Communicate with patient, family and members of the team to identify patient's health care needs and communication of test results in a timely manner.
- Keep accurate documentation of patient's treatment, medications, and vaccines in accordance with nursing standards. Correctly identify medication, action, dosage, side effects and implications for the patient.
- Educate patients and significant others related to drug interactions. Administer and document medication correctly in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Telephone triage responsibilities to assess patients' needs and make appropriate recommendations; conferring with Providers as necessary
- Perform duties with excellent customer service. Interact effectively with all members of the team. Deliver the highest quality of care to our patients. Maintain patient confidentiality
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a ASN/ BSN from an accredited school of nursing is required.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
- Current BLS/ACLS certification is required.
- Exemplifying the interpersonal skills necessary to constantly interact with patients, families, medical personnel and other members of the health care team.
- The ability to perform effectively and efficiently under pressure and in stressful situations.
- Exemplifying the analytical skills necessary to assess a patient’s condition, utilize the nursing process, and professional judgement in providing comprehensive care.
- Proficiency in computer use.
