Responsibility Summary
The Weekend Receptionist will provide coverage to the reception and / or security areas by monitoring the ChicagoCAC whether by patrolling the building and grounds or watching the cameras to ensure the safety of personnel and visitors and detect theft or damage to personnel or company property. The Weekend Receptionist will greet all visitors according to protocol and maintain daily reports of such activities and ensure the provision of reception services in a child and client friendly environment.

Primary Responsibilities :
- Open building for start of work day by activities such as turning off alarm and perimeter lights and make round of building to ensure necessary doors are opened
- Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates
- Displays a positive attitude and maintain a professional appearance.
- Receives all visitors in a pleasant and welcoming manner, arranges for their comfort and informs appropriate staff of their arrival.
- Protects the confidential nature of services to our clients.
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises
- Maintain daily log activities and irregularities and apprise supervisor of such (i.e., damage to vehicles, presence of unauthorized vehicles / persons, etc.)
- Maintain daily log of visitors : recording time of entry / time of departure, visitor’s name and intent for visit
- View security camera footage
- Answer alarms and assist with the investigation of the source of alarm.
- Call police, fire department, ambulance and / or security monitoring company in case of emergency or to notate false alarm.
- Warn persons of rule infractions or violations
- Perform such duties to close building for end of work day such as making round of the building to ensure windows and doors are closed and locked, where necessary, outside perimeter lights are turned on and alarm is set
- Responsible for the distribution and tracking of bus and gas cards
- Receive mail and packages, recording number received of the latter and informing personnel of its arrival
- Process out-going mail. Handle the sorting and processing of all packages for messenger services, Federal Express, etc.
- Provide administrative support, as necessary.
- Maintain the Reception area, keeping it clean, picking up toys etc. throughout the day.
- Gains knowledge regarding the Center and the services offered.
- Attends staff meeting and trainings as requested.
- Bilingual Receptionist- interpret as requested.
- Answer telephone calls and forward calls to appropriate person.
- Possibility of weekday coverage.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Discretion
The Weekend Receptionist has a low-level range of discretion and independent decision-making.
Supervisory Responsibilities
None
Relationships
The Weekend Receptionist works closely with the Facility Operations Manager and the Support Services team.
