Job Overview:
Chicago Fire Football Club is seeking a dedicated Athletic Trainer to join our team! This individual will be committed to the safety of CFFC’s Academy players and will work with the performance teams of the Academy as well as designated medical professionals to manage all training needs. The ideal candidate should be motivated to assist the players and members of the Academy as well as the MLS Next Pro (MLSNP) and possess a strong understanding of sports-related injuries and treatments. The Academy Athletic Trainer will work closely with Academy Director, Academy Head of Performance, and MLSNP Head Athletic Trainer daily. The performance of duties will be under the direction and supervision of Chief Medical Officer and Head of Medical.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide daily medical coverage to the Academy teams (U13 – U18) and support the MLSNP athletic trainers as needed
- Act as a Certified Athletic Trainer in managing the health care of players. Health care includes but is not limited to first aid/emergency care, on-site injury evaluation, application of appropriate modalities, developing rehabilitation and prevention programs, as well as conducting rehabilitation and making medical referrals
- Setup, breakdown, field coverage, and clinic coverage as assigned
- Maintain a complete and up-to-date roster of player health documents
- Play an active role in creating a professional environment within the academy through player interactions, maintaining the standard, and driving club culture
- Provide reports and communicate player updates to authorized personnel, parents, and Safeguard committee members.
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills required to work effectively with players, coaches, other team personnel
- Travel and ability to work weekends/flexible hours required
- Comply with OSHA standards regarding blood borne pathogens
- Order, maintain, amd inventory supplies and clinical equipment
- Keep athletic training room and clinic area safe, clean, and organized
- Organize physical examinations as required by league regulations
- Collaborate with Strength & Conditioning/Performance on data collected for athlete health & safety measure
- Comply with all league medical policies & protocols
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in athletic training, Physical Therapy, or related health care field
- CPR Certification for Health Care Provider
- NATABOC (or CATA) Certified Athletic Trainer
- In good standing with NATABOC
- Maintain professional liability insurance
- Ability to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings, including all home games (or other work events) that fall on nights, weekends, and/or holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Athletic Training, Physical Therapy or related health care field from a CAATE recognized school and valid state license
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a certified Athletic Trainer
- Prefered Certification: CSCS, PES, LMT
- Soccer experience preferred
Compensation:
- This role offers a salary range of $60,000.00 - $65,000.00
- Final salary is determined by carefully considering the applicant's background, experience, and qualifications. Base pay may vary significantly based on geographic location, job-specific knowledge, skills, and overall experience. This role is classified as Full-time, exempt
- This role is bonus eligible based on club-wide goals
