Job Description
The primary purpose of this position is to complete accounting requirements of few 501( C ) affiliates and support the Finance team on various financial projects. Accounting duties include complete and proper accounting of affiliates (currently using Quick Books), annual reconciliations, and year end audits. Other duties include support monitoring of private property management financial operations, centralized reimbursements, initiate funds transfers to align restricted / special revenues fund balances, and to assist in reviewing private property manager compliance of contracted financial requirements. The position is expected to assist Accounting teams with financial analysis, cash transactions review, audit type procedures on expenditures, balancing revenues sources to expenditures, and in ensuring the Authority maintain proper accounting and internal controls.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete accounting work for 501 ( C ) affiliates (S2S and CHCS) and prepare financial package for entity board meetings and annual audits.
- Perform audit / review type procedures to ensure cash transactions, at private property manager bank accounts, are proper and in order.
- Assist CFO in scrutinizing compiled information from Finance management and prepare matter for Investment Committee, including discussion materials, printing and scheduling necessary meetings as needed.
- Assist in monitoring financial condition of Property specific LLP entities, as General Partner of Low- Income Tax Credit syndicates.
- Assist accounting teams to ensure critical due dates are met. It includes tracking financials submitted on periodic (monthly, quarterly and annual) basis, analyze, and reconcile audit segmental reports on public assisted units and in True-ups payments.
- Compile, analyze and review operating expense reports submitted by properties, perform quality control checks and prepare year-end accruals.
- Track and monitor funds transfers required due to centralized disbursements and assist in major program level reimbursements.
- Performs routine and ad hoc financial analysis of special project items for department.
- Review and update internal and external processes and procedures.
- Schedule and hold monthly / quarterly / bi-weekly meeting with various departments to discuss findings, issues / concerns, reporting requirement, etc. In conjunction with various internal and external partners.
- Assist in generating presentations, analysis and compiling information for the Finance department and the Chief Financial Officer for meetings and internal uses.
- Other special projects to assist CFO.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in an applied science : accounting or finance preferred. MBA or CPA a plus. This position requires experience in financial oversight to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation of the Mixed Income Portfolio. Minimum of five (5) years' experience in accounting, auditing, finance or other related discipline preferred. The position requires proficiency with Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project & Outlook) and Quick Books. Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form with all levels of internal and external management. Working knowledge of Visio, a plus or presentation software.
Salary Range : 84,000 - 91,000
