Description
Basic Function:
This position will package, record & ship product according to delivery date, meeting on-time delivery requirements. Will perform primary tasks such as: casting preparation, boxing, route ticket/paperwork completion, filing of final paperwork, forklift and staging of product for pick-up. May load/unload trucks, receive company deliveries/material & distribute to appropriate departments, 6-S department areas, inspect castings, support outsource responsibilities, assist others with their work, and be able to work overtime when applicable. May drive company vehicles to deliver castings to vendors/ customers. Will process shipments through company database, customer portals and shipping software.

Exposed to Severe Weather Conditions: Yes; Outside temp when loading/unloading trucks. Cold/hot at times.
General Responsibilities:
- Accurate scanning in and out on jobs and the proper reporting of processed quantities
- Wear proper safety equipment; keep work area clean and safe at all times
- Review & inspect all material being used, building self-inspection into everything you process
- Verify, date and sign-off on all routing information
- Perform job tasks in an efficient manner according to given standards
- Must learn, understand, and follow all procedures associated with this job description
- Report any problems or discrepancies to immediate management
Specific Responsibilities:
- Process shipments, making sure route tickets and all other paperwork are complete and accurate before filing.
- Ensure customer quality standards are achieved and all PO’s are read and instructions followed.
- Receive, review and process PO’s resulting in outside casting distribution.
- Responsible for verifying completion of shipment paperwork and turning in to the front office at the end of the day.
- Scan/log in and out of jobs correctly; work efficiently within time variances.
- Call for trucks to pick up freight, i.e. BAX, Yellow, Conway, etc. Make sure shipments are sent to the correct address via UPS, trucking companies, Fed Ex, etc.
- Provide UPS tracking numbers, request casting information from vendor, process shipment, scheduling with designated personnel sending all paperwork the day before source.
- Load/unload trucks when necessary; receive-in, verify material/deliveries and distribute to appropriate departments, in accordance with procedures.
- Assist with packing, shipping and receiving of casting for outside services per purchase orders generated by outsource dept.
- Participate in problem solving and recommend continuous improvements to management.
- Assist department manager/ coordinator with any problems that might arise. (i.e. pulling old shipments from the file cabinets; misc. customer requests).
- Wear all safety equipment and work in a safe manner.
- Ability and willingness to train department personnel.
- All other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Skills:
- Maintain acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and valid driver's license to drive a company vehicle
- Ability to follow directions
- Basic math skills
- Ability to read and understand, in English, all procedures required to perform assigned tasks
- Ability to effectively work individually or in a team environment
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of UPS and FedEx software preferred
- One to two years shipping/receiving experience, preferred
