Chicago Marriott Northwest, nestled in the northwest suburbs off I90 Toll Road and Route 59, just 30 minutes outside of Chicago. Our hotel is the perfect commute and work-home away from home base for suburban, urban and even farm country dwellers.

Servers - Key Responsibilities

As a Servers at our Chicago Marriott Northwest in Hoffman Estates, you will play a crucial role in creating a memorable first impression for our guests. Your engaging personality and exceptional customer service skills will contribute to our goal of providing guests with an unforgettable experience. Your key responsibilities will include:

Customer Service:

• Greet and seat customers, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
• Provide recommendations and answer questions about menu items.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by checking in during meals and addressing any concerns promptly.
• Handle complaints professionally and resolve issues to the guest's satisfaction.

Order Fulfillment:

• Transmit orders to the kitchen and bar staff.
• Serve food and beverages promptly and accurately.
• Ensure food and beverages are delivered to the table in a timely manner.
• Refill drinks and clear plates as needed.

Table Management:

• Prepare tables with proper linens, silverware, and condiments.
• Maintain a clean and organized dining area.
• Bus tables and reset them for subsequent guests.

Financial Transactions:

• Process payments accurately and efficiently.
• Handle cash and credit card transactions.
• Ensure proper documentation of sales and receipts.

Other Duties:

• Adhere to health and safety regulations.
• Follow established procedures for alcohol service (if applicable).
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth operation of the restaurant.
• May assist with opening and closing duties.

Server - Qualifications

• Excellent customer skills so that clients feel special and have a memorable experience
• Stamina to withstand the long hours on their feet

The ability to maintain a calm composure when things get busy

• Good communication skills in order to attend to the needs of clients and work effectively in a team
• Basic computer literacy to be able to work on a point-of-sale system
• A good memory for orders
• Good multi-tasking skills to provide excellent service to multiple clients simultaneously
• Presentable appearance and good hygiene

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $9.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
