The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) is seeking an Analyst or Senior Analyst to lead research and analysis on public policy topics related to transportation, climate, and regional economic development. All candidates should demonstrate thorough knowledge of public policy, urban and regional planning practices, and an understanding of environmental, economic, social, land use, and transportation considerations in planning. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas :
- Transporation policy and planning
- Corridor-based congestion management planning, including use of intelligent Transportation systems strategies
- Tolling and road usage charging strategies
- Transit planning in large, complex metropolitan regions
- Bicycle, pedestrian, and micromobility strategies
- Emerging transportation technology approaches
- Climate action planning including mitigation strategies to reduce future emissions, including from transportation, building, industrial, and other sources
- Resilience strategies to improve the ability of communities to recover from disruptions, including those related to extreme weather events
- Regional economic development, including regional economic strengths, identification of key industries, workforce, and infrastructure.
- Economic development strategies, such as incentive programs, developer agreements, and site readiness programs
- State and local tax policy, with specific knowledge of sales and property tax systems in Illinois preferred.
This position will design or contribute to research processes, including data collection, calculations, visualizations, and quality assurance and will present findings and draft recommendations to a variety of audiences.
Candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to coordinate effectively with a variety of both internal and external stakeholders.
Senior Analysts will budget and manage multiple staff and / or consultant-led projects from inception to completion.
Hiring Range for Analysts : $69,769.35 $85,467.39
Hiring Range for Senior Analysts : $77,087.78 $98,286.78
Salary : $77,088 - $98,287
