Fire Alarm Service Technician II

The Fire Alarm Service Technicians are an integral part of our Fire Alarm department. The Technicians service Fire Alarm panels at our customer sites and typically visit multiple customer locations each day. Experience in the Fire & Life Safety industry is required for the Level II technician role. This role also requires a NICET II certification in Fire Alarm Systems. This person would ideally be located in the Elmhurst/Chicagoland: area, to provide service to the surrounding market.
Job Responsibilities:
- Inspect, test, service and troubleshoot fire alarm systems for a variety of customer sites including commercial buildings, condo/apartment buildings, healthcare facilities and more
- Document detailed reports of fire inspections performed, fire code violations observed, and provide recommendations to customers
- Conduct fire code compliance follow-ups to ensure that corrective actions are taken
- Attend training and spend time reading to maintain current knowledge of fire prevention procedures and new technology
- Communicate professionally with building/property managers and owners as well as internal staff
- Mentor Level I Technicians with the possibility of training new hires on the job
Job Requirements:
- Scheduling flexibility – first shift, with starting which times vary; work as many hours as it takes to get the service or repair complete. Must be dependable - punctual and committed to work.
- Emergency on-call availability on a rotating basis a few times per year
- Takes initiative; Must be able to work independently
- Maintains professional conduct and presents professional image on client job sites
- Trustworthy
- Provide exceptional customer service & develop strong relationships with customers
- High School diploma and NICET II Certification is required
- Requires reliable sight, hearing, verbal communication and touch
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- 1-3 years’ experience minimum as Fire Alarm Technician
Physical Requirements:
- Walking, bending, kneeling, climbing on ladders, twisting, placing body in adverse positions to be able to service fire alarm systems, overhead work, long hours on your feet; good balance required
- Lift 60lbs daily, up to 100lbs on occasion

Work Environment:
This role is primarily field-based, working in a variety of building structures with physical requirements – see above. This role requires minimal desk work but does require telephone communication, and possibly some computer usage throughout the day.
