Job Position : Accountant
Reports to : General Manager
Status : Exempt
Department : Administrative
Job Summary : The position is responsible for tracking and analyzing production costs based on manufacturing operations of the business. The accounting position assists the President with monthly closings, including preparation of journal entries and reports.
Position Responsibilities :
- Track and report all manufacturing costs.
- Maintain records of work in progress and finished goods
- Identify and investigate discrepancies in projected and actual costs
- Assist President in preparation of monthly closings, including preparation of journal entries and financial reports
- Maintain fixed asset records
- Maintain cash journal and bank accounts
- Prepare Illinois Service and Use Tax return
- Maintain petty cash
- Prepare and manage year end audit schedules
- Complete all designated work associated with the position in a timely manner
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures including safety and attendance requirements
- Participate in activities to increase personal skill level and improve overall department processes and quality
- Follow instructions to perform other work-related duties as required to meet Company goals
