We have a 2nd shift lead position available in our Des Moines warehouse operation.
JOB DUTIES
- Oversee and coordinate warehouse personnel on the 2nd shift.
- Communicate with the sales department on daily order priority and status.
- Assist the Plant Manager in directing the processing of orders on the 2nd shift.
- Load trucks and control outbound shipments of customer orders.
- Operate forklift, Hubtex side loader, and overhead crane to move material in the warehouse.
- Maintain control of inventory.
- Control the assignment of work.
- Develop and recommend systems to improve the operation of the warehouse.
- May operate saw, or other equipment to process, package, and load.
- May receive / inspect and verify the material count.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
This position requires an individual with at least 2 years of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment, who can demonstrate proven supervisory skills. A high school education is necessary; a college education would be a plus. Basic math skills are a must. Experience in the steel distribution industry is highly preferred, but not required.
