What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sponsor Sales and Relations Intern position at Chicago Union?
This job opportunity's compensation is primarily commission-based – this position could also be used towards school credit if needed for an internship.
The Sponsor Sales and Relations intern will work closely with the General Manager and other various members of the organization and be involved in the partnership sales and marketing strategy of the Chicago Union. This individual will support the team by growing team sponsorship and delivering on partner agreements.
The successful candidate will be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a consistent structure, can-do attitude, and top-notch creative execution. Moreover, this individual must take initiative independently and manage ambiguity while embodying the vision, mission, and core values of the Chicago Union ultimate frisbee team.
Responsibilities
- Source a list of potential Sponsors in the Evanston/Chicago communities
- Develop and Update sponsorship procurement decks on a per client basis (as needed)
- Reach out to potential sponsors in Evanston and Chicago, and pitch various sponsorship engagement opportunities
- Work with senior management to optimize sponsorship package offerings, and custom-tailor sponsorships and fan activations as needed for potential sponsors
- Sponsor Assurance - ensure that sponsor obligations are being met (advertising, social media, tickets, etc.)
- Maintain relationships with team and league sponsors – keep consistent engagement with sponsors and ensure a seamless experience partnering with the Union
- Identify and evaluate emerging social channels, features, applications, platforms, tools, and strategies; implement when beneficial to strategic objectives
Qualifications
- Major in sports marketing, sales, or business preferred
- Strongly self-motivated – this is primarily a commission-based sales position
- Experience in sales
- Experience in managing customer relations and maintaining professional relationships
- Experience in tracking KPI’s
- Basic proficiency with graphic design software preferred
- Must be able to prioritize and juggle multiple projects at the same time
- Incredible attention to detail
- Strong problem solving and communication skills
- Must reside in the Evanston area
- Ability to commit to November - July
