CPLC Centro De La Familia (CDLF) provides outpatient behavioral health services for families and individuals of all ages. The program offers counseling and therapy services to those living with serious mental illness, general mental health issues, and substance abuse issues. These issues can be related to depression, anxiety, relationships, loss, substance abuse, suicidal thoughts, and trauma from sexual, emotional and/or physical abuse. Outpatient services offer flexible office hours and home-based services for children and their families, public transit accessibility, therapy in English and Spanish, and professional staff who utilize best practice models for treatment. |
OBJECTIVE AND POSITION SUMMARY
Objective
- Provide high-quality, client-centered behavioral health services through direct care, coordination with community resources, and collaborative treatment planning, supporting individuals in achieving improved mental health and overall well-being.
Position Summary
- Under general supervision, this role delivers direct and indirect covered services to individual clients, manages an assigned caseload, conducts assessments, develops and implements treatment plans, and facilitates out-of-office and crisis services as needed. The clinician actively coordinates with community stakeholders, manages their schedule, and participates in ongoing professional development and interdisciplinary team collaboration to ensure effective, holistic care.
SPECIALIZATIONS
- Working knowledge of lifespan development and harm reduction models.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize symptoms to the full and broad range of DSM diagnoses.
- Ability to provide routine, urgent, and emergent interventions.
- Ability to apply and integrate the American Society of Addiction Medicine criteria in service planning and implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to apply motivational enhancement, stages of change, family systems, and appropriate family communication process. • Ability to understand and screen for serious mental illness, and complete requests for determination.
- Knowledge and ability to effectively engage clients in process and maintain safety and cohesiveness.
- Knowledge and understanding of group therapy models and stages.
- Ability to demonstrate education and verbalization of information in a culturally competent and sensitive manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
1. Education /Background:
- Master’s degree in a behavioral health-related field.
- Two (2) years of full-time behavioral health work experience.
- Current license preferred, or ability to become licensed.
- Bilingual language skills in English/Spanish
2. Other Requirements:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured under an automobile insurance policy.
- Ability to obtain a fingerprint clearance card, CPR, and First Aid certification.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must maintain professional appearance and demonstrate punctuality and effective time management skills.
- Customer service-driven with the ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
- Must successfully complete agency orientation and demonstrate competence in required skills and knowledge.
- Ability to comply with COVID-19 vaccination requirements or approved exemptions with adherence to masking, testing, and additional measures.
3. Additional Competencies:
- Knowledge and understanding of general mental health, substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, and serious mental illness.
- If working with youth, familiarity with behavioral principles in youth treatment and the Arizona Child and Family Team model.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, phone etiquette, and organizational abilities.
- Effective time management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks in a multi-tasking environment.
- Basic typing/computer skills.
- Flexibility to work a schedule as needed per program requirements.
- Ability to recognize and solve problems independently and adapt to new approaches.
- If working with youth, attendance at required Child and Family Team training within one month of employment and participation in ongoing learning.
