Program Coordinator for Early Childhood

OBJECTIVE AND POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Coordinator plays a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the early childhood system within the Yavapai region. The Program Coordinator will collaborate closely with early childhood service providers, schools, community organizations, tribal entities, and parents to address gaps in services and foster a more cohesive system. The role will act as a catalyst for systemic change, leveraging data-driven strategies to create meaningful, measurable improvements in the accessibility and quality of early childhood support services. This role will cultivate and provide leadership for an advisory panel to spearhead initiatives that emphasize the importance of early childhood development and literacy through family-centered events, targeted outreach, and strategic partnerships. These efforts will at least include designing and implementing innovative strategies that bring families into welcoming spaces of belonging and integrate early childhood components into existing community events, ensuring these touchpoints reach families not yet connected to formal systems of care.

MInimum Qualifications and Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a valid driver’s license and access to safe and reliable transportation with valid automobile insurance
• Must have or be able to obtain a valid Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance card
• Complete CPR and First Aid certifications within 90 days of hire and maintain certifications throughout employment
• Minimum of 20 hours of continuing education annually

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, meeting program requirements and objectives
• Act as a change agent, motivating, and guiding the advisory panel to identify opportunities for systemic improvements
• Build and sustain relationships with diverse partners, including local governments, schools, nonprofits, healthcare providers, tribal organizations, and community leaders
• Recruit and lead an advisory panel of community representatives, including parents, people with lived experience, childcare providers, family service providers, and educators
• Plan and facilitate community meetings, including setting agendas, organizing logistics, and documenting follow-ups
• Analyze data to identify systemic gaps and opportunities, ensuring coordinated efforts among stakeholders
• Develop and execute projects that align with the regional strategic plan, focusing on measurable outcomes and adherence to budget constraints
• Leverage regional infrastructure, partnerships, and community resources to expand family access to early childhood services
• Ensure activities align with First Things First’s mission and values, promoting collaboration and respect
• May perform other duties as assigned
